JOB SUMMARY:

As a crucial member of our Construction team, the Group Operations Supervisor holds significant responsibility for fostering the growth and direction of a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians. Anticipated to allocate 25-40% of time to supervisory duties, the incumbent will also engage in hands-on project work for the remaining duration. Supervisors will have the capability to design and engineer control system hardware and software programming based on project requirements. Additionally, they provide insightful analysis of building control and mechanical system performance as a complete systems and campus level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Control System Design and Programming
  • Ensure proper engineering, start up, commissioning, and closeout of assigned projects
  • Assist in development/management of department initiatives
  • Overall fiscal responsibility of assigned projects
  • Overall labor planning for group
  • Ensure assigned projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Participate in quartile goal reviews with direct reports
  • Participate in performance appraisals
  • Support training and development plans for direct reports

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team in both leadership and support roles
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with electronics and basic electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of DDC (direct digital control) Theory and Applications
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Proficiency in ACAD
  • Robust programming skills
  • Proven analytical skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires a combination of working in an office environment and routine visits to project jobsites up to 60% of working hours. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds more frequently is required. Must be comfortable climbing a ladder infrequently. Small repetitive motions and use of small tools is included.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Annual base salary ranges from $82,000 - $132,000 depending on experience

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS

  • Full-time, exempt
  • Typical Monday – Friday working hours with flexibility as needed
  • Local travel required with infrequent out-of-state travel

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE

  • AA degree in applied technology and/or undergraduate degree preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Computer programming experience
  • Building Mechanical System and Troubleshooting experience
  • 5+ years industry experience (minimum)
